In 3961.1 is stated that we do not support DECnet and LAT on Mac models
with Commslot and PCI cards. We have a large international key customer
in Sweden (Volvo), who urgently needs7 to know:
1. Will Pathworks for Mac support Commslot and PCI card Mac models in
the future and when?
2. Is there any good workaround to make such a models to run DECnet and
LAT?
We will appreciate any suggestion.
Best regards,
Ivan Ivanov,

| 4031.1 | DECnet will never work, Try Appletalk-Lat gateway. | VMSNET::J_FILLERS | Fri May 30 1997 13:39 | 14 | |
It is my understanding that DECnet will never work with PCI ethernet
cards or Commslot cards. Thursby has no plans to make it work either
since they will eventually retire TSSNET(DECnet).
LAT may be possilbe using the Appletalk-Lat Gateway. This requires
atleast one Mac to run the Gateway software itself then you select the
Appletalk-Lat tool instead of Lat. This should work
with Commslot and PCI ethernet cards.
I know of no workaround for DECnet.
