| 4022.1 | It is most likely _NOT_ the server | UNIFIX::HARRIS | Juggling has its ups and downs | Tue Apr 08 1997 09:11 | 10 |
| | While upgrading the OpenVMS system to PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (Macintosh)
    v1.3 is a good idea, I do not think it has anything to do with the
    Power Macintosh 4400.

    The file server doesn't care what type of Macintosh it is talking to.

    If there is a problem, it is most likely on the Macintosh side, not the
    server.

| 4022.2 | Probably a client side issue.... | JAMIN::EIRIKUR | Eirikur Hallgrimsson, usually | Fri Apr 11 1997 11:00 | 7 |
| | While I'm not familiar with PowerMac 4400's, I suspect that your problem lies
there. PATHWORKS requires either a built-in Ethernet connection, or a Nubus
Ethernet adaptor. Nothing else is supported, sorry. This is a problem and
will be address in field communications as well as the 1.3A SPDs.

the only piece of pathworks that works on 4400 is terminal emulation and lat.
no piece of decnet (not even 1.4) . no macx.
decnet can't find the pci ethernet controller.
