4010.0. "MSAF$SERVER.EXE " by NETRIX::"[email protected]" (Luraschi Carlo) Mon Feb 17 1997 04:11

Hello,
      I need the patch MSAF$SERVER.EXE, mentioned in the Stars article
"[Elev]msaf$APPL.DAT is locked after doing a dismount/abort"
      Unfortunately the article gives only the pointer to the VAX patch
but I need the Alpha patch.
      Does anybody have a pointer ??

            Thanks
                  Carlo

4010.1See if the actual patch kit has both versionsUNIFIX::HARRISJuggling has its ups and downsMon Feb 17 1997 07:5614
    I have not seen the patch kit nor the Stars article, but it does not
    make sense to create just a VAX version of the patch. Years ago when I
    used to create the patches (not the patch you want, but other patches),
    I always created both versions and had the patch kit install the
    correct version depending on which platform the kit was being executed
    from.

    I would suggest that you at least get a copy of the patch and see if
    this is still the case.

    If the kit does not contain an Alpha version, then consider escalating
    the problem via a CLD (but check first).

Unfortunately the article referes to the following file:
    CPEEDY"cld_case cldcld"::USER4:[CLD_CASE.MAC_SERVER]MSAF$SERVER.EXE;108
    which is for VAX. Making a dir of the directory I see:
Directory CPEEDY"cld_case password"::USER4:[CLD_CASE.MAC_SERVER]

MSAF$SERVER.EXE;297 MSAF$SERVER.EXE;266 MSAF$SERVER.EXE;108 MSAF$SERVER.EXE;4
MSAF$SERVER.EXE_ALPHA_CFS46040;2        MSAF$SERVER.EXE_CFS44252_ALPHA;1
MSAF$SERVER.EXE_CFS_48907_AXP;1         MSAF$SERVER.EXE_VAX_CFS46040;1
MSAP$SYMBIONT.EXE;2 MSAP$SYMBIONT.EXE_AXP;1
MSAP$SYMBIONT.EXE_CFS48044;2            MSAP$SYMBIONT.EXE_CFS48044;1
MSAP$SYMBIONT.EXE_V61;3                 MSAP$SYMBIONT.EXE_VAX;2
MSAP$SYMBIONT.EXE_VAX;1                 README.FIRST;1      TO_IND_FILE.FDL;2
TO_SEQ_FILE.FDL;1

It is not clear whichone is the Alpha version,MSAF$SERVER.EXE_ALPHA_CFS46040;2
   or MSAF$SERVER.EXE_CFS44252_ALPHA;1 or MSAF$SERVER.EXE_CFS_48907_AXP;1 or
   none of these.

        Thankyou again
