7429.0. "KZPSA in XL590???" by CIRCUS::BOSKLOPPER () Wed Apr 30 1997 01:52

    We have a customer who installed a kzpsa in a XL590.
    He can't get it to work and asked us if this is supported?
    He is using winNT 4.0. Has someone experience with this?
    Any input welcome.

    If you're talking about a Celebris XL 590, it has built-in
    SCSI support on the motherboard. Maybe you need to disable
    that in the BIOS?
7429.4Don't think so.PCBUOA::WHITECParrot_TrooperWed Apr 30 1997 10:357
    If it's a PRIORIS XL590, check the supported options list on
    akin40.ako.dec.com but I wouldn't think so. PC prioris options
    usually start with FR-......SCSI Adapters would be in the PCTAZ
    variety.  Adaptec scsi controllers.

    	If memory serves me correctly (wow, that would be a change), this
    is a SW controller that has been optimized for the Alpha side of the
    house. Therefore, we wouldn't support it.

    	I would assume, this would include special F/W to allow booting for
    our Unix and OpenVMS systems.

7429.6need more than 7 drivesCIRCUS::BOSKLOPPERFri May 02 1997 15:426
    The customer needs more than 7 drives. He has some KZPSA left over.
    But we installed a KZPAA and this one works great together with the
    on board scsi controller. He is happy now.
