7421.0. "Remote Server Manager capabilities" by VAXRIO::CUPOLILLO () Wed Apr 23 1997 14:23

        I would like to know if in a DECpc Prioris ZX using a Raid
    Controller and equipped with Remote Server Manager is it possible to
    run the Raid Configuration Utility remotly in the sense to monitor the
    disk array?

        Thanks,

7421.1GAM is the answer.PCBUOA::WHITECParrot_TrooperWed Apr 23 1997 15:5111

    You would be better off using the Global Array Manager software. That
    is what it was designed for.

    Go to akin40.ako.dec.com, and click on Digital Serverworks and
    follow the links to released kits.

    what you are asking about is vague at best. Can you get a little more
    specific? What is the problem you are trying to overcome?

        Thanks for the repply. My doubt came from a customer that asked me
    if using the Remote Server Maneger he would be able to remotly
    monitoring the status of the disks configured in his RAID ARRAY and
    also if it is possible to modify the array configuration remotly.

7421.4Only the Mylex Configuration UtilityPCBUOA::BRACKENFri May 09 1997 19:306
    RSM could run the Mylex Raid Configuration Utility via remote console
    in DOS mode or via Remote Diskette booting in DOS. Further control
    is not possible with RSM. You would need the GAM console either
    stand alone or from Server Works tool bar.
