7413.0. "Matrox Millenium poor display" by ITPD01::LOTTO () Mon Apr 14 1997 13:00

Hallo, i have a problem with a Personal Workstation 6200, a Matrox Millenium
graphic card and Windows NT 4.0.
The problem is a poor display with a graphic resolution of 1280x1024 True
Colors. The most evident symptom i see are piecies of blank vertical rasters
on the right of black vertical lines.

OS is Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 2

Video BIOS is Version 2.2

Video driver is Version 3.00.025

System BIOS is Version 1.04

Monitor is VRCX1-AC (same problem with other monitors)

Have anyone seen this problem?

                                                        Paolo

    The video driver version sounds a bit flakey... it should be
    something like V2.20 or V2.35 (V2.35 currently being FIS'ed).

    you might want to ask this in the NT notes file as well, someone might
    have run across it.
7413.3Lack of RAM?SNOFS1::16.153.96.192::powellronaldAustralia!Mon Apr 14 1997 21:194
Sounds like lack of memory if the driver rev is ok. How much ram
has the video card got?

    questions:

    1) does the same problem occur at 1280*1024*256 colors?
    2) does the same problem occur at truse color but 60hz refresh rate?

    Thanks for your interest.

    The video driver version i reported was what i seen in NT diagnostic,
    driver was updated by the customer from Matrox internet site and the
    problem remain the same.

    The video card has 8MB memory.

    Problem the same, but minus evident, with lower resolutions.

    Errata corrige: i said blanks instead of white defining vertical
    raster: excuse me.

    I have created a techtip for video white line noise problem for
    Celebris GL 5xxx system with 6MB video option ram installed. The techtip
    can be found on our web site,http://pcbu.ako.dec.com
    If this didn't address your problem then,you might want to log an IPMT to
    support engineer.

    regards,
