7409.1 | Isn't it supposed to disappear? | KAOFS::C_MENENDEZ | CARLOS, SOO ONT MCS (705)945-7862 | Wed Apr 09 1997 21:45 | 5 |
| I might be wrong, but I think in the release notes for the drivers
it is stated that the icon will dissapear and that volume is controlled
somwhere else.

7409.2 | re: .1 3D icon hides | LESREG::STOLICNY | | Thu Apr 10 1997 09:59 | 4 |
| I'm pretty sure what dissapears is the "3D" icon from the tool bar.
It can be found in "options" after you double-click the speaker icon.

7409.3 | I don't have the speaker icon in the task bar. | CSC32::G_OGLESBY | Ginny Oglesby 592-4731 CSC/CS | Thu Apr 10 1997 13:02 | 7 |
| Thanks so far.
Maybe I'm using the wrong terms, sorry. But the speaker icon is what is
missing. It used to display in the task bar, just next to the clock. How
can I get to the 'options' if I don't have the speaker icon?
Thanks again.

| Control Panel - System. Get the Properties for the sound card, and there should
be an option to restore the speaker icon in the tray.

7409.5 | Check your settings | PCBUOA::GKELLEY | | Thu Apr 10 1997 17:37 | 9 |
| I believe that the speaker icon on the system tray is put there by
Win95 when it detects that you have a sound card and that the Volumn
Control for the WAVE device is enabled. You might what to double check
the settingsin Device Manager for the Telecommander - there is a
listing of what all the settings should be in one of the README files
that came with the upgrade.

| However, the icon often goes missing - I've seen this reported many
times.

7409.7 | There is a checkbox somewhere.... | CHOWDA::FAHEY | Are we having 'FUN' yet? | Fri Apr 11 1997 10:55 | 6 |
| Somewhere in the properties of a sound related application (volume
control or perhaps media player there is a check box to put the speaker
icon on the task bar.... Just did this recently but I can't remember
exactly where it is..... best guess is volume control...advanced...
