Hi I have a PRIORIS XL Server 560 with two disks. One disk is connected to a SCSI adapter, and is currently functioning as the system disk; the system boots SCO UNIX. the other 'disk' is a two-member RAID-1 set connected to a Mylex controller. I want this RAID set to become the boot disk. How do I do this? Thanks! tl

Disable the BIOS on the Adaptec. An OS like SCO or Windows NT don't need the BIOS to talk to these drives. You need the BIOS however to bootstrap from the POST in to it. Disabling the BIOS on the Adaptec and enabling it on the Mylex wil make sure that the bootstrap part goes to the Mylex. If you need afterwards under DOS to access the disk, you can always load the Adaptec device drivers. Pjotrr |
