Hello! I am using HiNote CT450 with Windows 95. The machine had _blank_ disk. I installed DOS 6.22 than Windows 95 than kit from HiNote/HiNote Ultra Setup Diskette (Windows 95). I don't know version of my BIOS (any tip how to do that?) by an attempt to upgrade to V1.42 resulted in message "The update BIOS is older than the current BIOS". The problem: machine does not use APM features: suspend, hdd "sleep" etc. If I boot it with DOS everything works fine. Any ideas? Thank you in advance. Alexey.

APM is one of the optional features in the W95 installation. There is a checkbox for it buried in the optional software menus. Do you have the "suspend" icon in the START menu and the "battery" icon in the control panel? Dave | |||||

Yes, I do. I installed W95 for MS-DOS system with APM. In Power applet
in control panel I have Advanced Power Management selected. If I select
to show Suspend icon I can see it and it works (turns computer to
Suspend state).
Probably I am missing some device drivers I should load? As I told in
.0 I got HiNote with BLANK disk.

Alexey, The BIOS version is displayed at the top of the screen during boot. It should say something about SystemSoft, ending in a version number. If the version number is 1.01 followed by some stuff in brackets, like [2366-32], that is important (and old). Version 1.42 is the latest release for the HiNote and HiNote Ultra. E-mail me with your current version number and I will let you know the secret incantations to override the version test.
