I have a slimline Celebris 5100 (BIOS 2.03) and a DE305 (new NE2000 PnP ISA adapter). If I put the DE305 in the top ISA slot on the riser, the card is not visible to the PnP BIOS/software. If I put the card in the middle slot of the riser, the card is visible. That presents a problem for me since I'd like to put a PCI card in the middle slot. Any thoughts why the PnP card doesn't work in the top ISA-only slot?

re: NETRIX::thomas Sounds like a hardware incompatibility for your combination of DE305 and the Celebris 5100. I think you'll have to try and live with the slot choice or pick another network card. DE205's work great in there if you can find one. I've also used Racal-Interlan EtherBlasters and 3COM Etherlink 3 quite successfully. /Bill

Is the top [ISA-only] slot supposed to support PnP?

re: .2 by NETRIX::thomas >> Is the top [ISA-only] slot supposed to support PnP? The slots are all supposed to be the same. Obviously, there's a problem with signal quality with that card in place. /Bill |
