7375.0. "Venturis MPEG/Capture Card" by MROA::ALAVALLEY () Mon Mar 10 1997 10:15

Greetings!

Just installed the Digital Video Capture/MPEG Decoder Card
(FR-PCXGA-AC) on my Venturis FX5166sm. Carefully followed the
installation and configuration guide. Running W95 ...

Installed card
Enabled Onboard VGA IRQ in BIOS
Running S3 Trio64V+ PCI Display driver
Installed DirectDraw driver
Installed LiveVideo driver
Installed MPEG device driver
Installed Multimedia Vidcapture/Editing program
Connected video source to PC s-video connection

Problem:
Opened Multimedia application Video Capture program.
Dialog box appears stating: "Unsupported video format" [YES]
Pressing Yes button message: "Video capture cannot access the
capture device. Check that the capture driver has been installed
or is not in use by another program.

Uninstalled then reinstalled all drivers again. Same message.

Anyone have this card? Have you been able to capture video?

Thanks in advance for any help.

7375.1Try the PCBU BBS for updated instructionsWHYNOW::NEWMANInstalled Base Marketing - DTN 223-5795Mon Mar 10 1997 10:477
    I went through quite a bit of pain to get this to work. I eventually
    discovered that the instructions that shipped with the card were
    incorrect and would not work. I managed to find an updated set of
    instructions on the PCBU BBS that, when followed, worked just fine.

    Do the instructions you have tell you to change a BIOS setting? If
    not, they are the wrong instructions

    Thanks for the reply. I did the BIOS thing and believe I have
    the latest instructions. I'll recheck the web BBS, but I think
    something else is happening here.
