Hi,
Would you please be more specific about what you mean by switching from
one screen to the next? Does video mode change? If so, then one would
expect the monitor to spend some time resynching to the new mode.

Again, it would help to understand what applications the customer is
running when "changing screens."

| Hi, the customer i running internet explorer v3.0, kea term, oracle, MS
office, validates thru NT server, and connects to as400 using MSsna(token
ring).
Lets say the customer is running excell, he has a book open in the screen, and
opens internet explorer and starts to move the mouse through the screen, once
the internet opens, the video goes and comes back again. It is just one
second. Almost every time he moves the mouse or changes from one page to
another the video blinks for one or two seconds. Don't think that this
happens only under this setting-programs or applications open- no matter what
is open after win 311 is up, if the customer moves the mouse or clicks the
keyboard he will get the problem.

Wouldn't you think after loading 95..., that this was a software
issue?

Hi Rafael,
Thanks for the added description of the software that the customer is
running and "paging" through or "switching" between. So... they're
running Internet Explorer on Windows 3.11. Wonderful. Is it safe to
say that if IE is not running, then there are no problems? Please
check. If that is the case, you should advise the customer not to run
IE under Windows 3.11, or if they must, what they see is what they get.
I don't think this is something that anyone other than Microsoft can
possibly support, and if they did, it would be reluctantly. I think
Microsoft wishes it could forget Windows 3.11.
I offer these as my opinion. If you want any official statement,
you'll have to escalate the case via corporate IPMT.
Regards,
/Bill

| Hi bill, thanks for your reply. The customer says he is running some kind of
software that does not run on win95. The first thing I did when the customer
put the call was to replce the monitor with the same model but nothing
happened. I transfer the call to C1 but got no answer. So, I wrote this
note. Browsing Notes yesterday I read one about the Sony monitors and I
replaced the monitor with another brand and screen size. It seems that the
problem is gone.

Hi Rafael,
Wow, what a strange case. This makes me think that possibly the
original monitor is more susceptible to signal levels than the new
monitor you put in. I had thought in my earlier reply that the
software was switching video modes. Maybe that's not so.
I hope this kind of situation doesn't come up very often. I also
hope your customer is satisfied.
Cheers,
/Bill
