7362.0. "debug code to enter cmos on LPX/LPV" by NETRIX::"[email protected]" (Courtney Brunt) Sun Feb 23 1997 03:34

Hi,

I am wanting to know if there is a debug code to enter
the CMOS set up program on a LPX or LPV. I have a customer who has
disabled the CMOS Somehow. I have tried to obtain a copy of the setup program,

but all so far have been a demo version only, that prevents you from writing
the changes.

Thanks in Advance

Not exactly what you asked for, but try the following:

    - hit <F1> during POST, right after you see the system type display.

I don't remember if this is true of the particular model, but many
BIOSes have the security feature that one may enable to NOT show the
prompt to hit <F1> to enter CMOS setup mode. I am very certain <F1> is
used on the LPX/LPV. The more recent DIGITAL PCs use <F2>.

    Cheers,

Bill,

Thanks for your reply, however, not only has the prompt to enter
setup been disabled, but it seems the seup program has been disbaled as well.
I have seen debug code used before to enter the setup in circumstances before,

and thought somebody might know.

Cheers
Courtney

Have you tried to use some other program such as QAplus diag to change
    setup?
