I am trying to determine how best to bring a Prioris XL Server up to full multimedia. No such options (for sound) were available on the Prioris Configuration tool when we placed the order. As I see the options, it looks like we can 1) add an soundboard, such as the Ensoniq (or the current, available equiv) or add in the current multimedia kit (8x cdrom, sound, etc) such as we did for some Venturis FX's recently. Looking for some ideas..

this reminds me of the company I consulted for/with a few years back (when NT first rolled out).. the department geek wanted to put sound cards on all the servers, and attach .wav files to certain events, such as CPU utilization achieving a threshold level, etc etc. four servers were thusly configured; and hooked directly to the loudspeaker system in the operator's area; the event was a nasally voice saying "My network is down.." (this, by the way over my objections) ...The first network outage we had was probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen or heard... The sound cards were pulled the following day... once our hearing returned! |
