The Venturis FP590 does not have a reset button. Since I have my share of troubles with hanging shutdowns / reboots (see topic 7332), I've been thinking of adding the button myself. Even if DEC decided to save a few cents, I'm willing to invest into the extra hardware of a button and a few inches of wire. I looked at the MLB and right beside the pins for the front panel LEDs, speaker etc. I found the text "J31 RESET" but without pins to put a connector on where I suppose they belong to. Should it be possible to solder two wires to where the pins are supposed to be ? I assume that shorting these wires with the button would initiate the reset sequence. However, it does not work in my case. Is there anything else which has been left off of the MLB because a reset button was not in the requirements document ? Can this be added, or am I just s.o.l ? Thanks for your help, Hans.
