Although I have no experience with the Intel 83MHz upgrade, I have obtained,
through IEG for a VERY modest price, Evergreen and Kingston 586/133 upgrades
and have tested both in the PCT73 / aka DECpc 466d2 MTE. Both upgrades use
the AMD 586 chip and had identical performance. Running compute intensive
benchmarks, the upgrades were about 70% faster than the 486/66 d2. I didn't
have a Pentium 75 to compare against but the upgrades were faster than a
Pentium 60 and scaled out a little better than half of a Pentium 133.
On a scale of 100 with the 133MHz Pentium as a 100 reference, the 486/66 came
in at 28, the Pentium 60 at 45, and the 586 upgrade at 52.

The Evergreen and Kingston upgrades were literal "plug an play". The systems
already had V1.05 of the BIOS so ALL that was done was to swap the chips.
Obviously, your mileage will vary with your I/O since the fast chip is still
setting on a 33MHz motherboard.
