7194.2Continued Registry corruptionsNPSS::KIRKFri Jan 24 1997 15:1015
I have continued to experience corrupted registry problems with my
    Starion 910.

It has been sooo educational an experience, that I can now restore the
    registry without use of documentation.

This appears to happen at random. No specific program use seems to
cause the corruption. One night I was using MS Word, closed and shut
down the system. The next morning I wanted to copy the Word doc to
a floppy, but the system reported a corrupted registry on start-up.

I'm beginning to think that this system is a lemon.

I've had a Starion 933 for about a month and half now and I am
occasionally seeing this same error on startup. I get an error
window when booting that says my "System Registry" file is corrupt and
asks me if I want to try to reboot using the backup files. I hit return
and it apparently renames the backup file(s) and asks me to hit return
if I want to reboot. I hit return and it reboots and everything is OK.
(It also warns me that some information due to difference between the two
files may cause some data loss but I haven't seen this happen yet.)
I am religious about shutting down before I turn it off so this isn't
it. Anyone out there seeing the same thing or have suggestions as to
what is causing this or how to remedy it?

Have you run a virus checker? Also run scandisk complete to see if you
have any bad blocks on the disk. Have you installed any new software?
    Installed any new hardware?

Other then that, I haven't haven'y a clue to the problem.
