A customer informed me that the reason ther was no Digital UNIX cleint for Notes was that Digital pulled a resource allocated to Lotus for doing the port. What is the story here? I am assuming that if we had a resource helping Lotus port to DEC UNIX and we pulled the resource we would have good reason for doing so. Are there any plans to provide Lotus Notes server or client support on Digital UNIX? Thanks, Dick

Digital and Lotus made a mutual decision not to bring to market the Digital Unix port of Notes, and formalized the agreement during the fall with a new contract focused exclusively on WNT. This decision was based on where the groupware market for Notes was going, the incremental Unix revenue -vs- cost of maintaining the Notes/Unix product over time, and the fact that the reference/development platform is WNT. There is no plan to continue with the Digital Unix port of Notes/Domino. | |||||
