    One of our customer wants to setup a backup site for the Notes
    environment. This does not seems to be a difficult using replication.
    However, I have few questions regarding mail database. Is it possible 
    to use replication for the email database and What are the issues?
    
    The other question is on the Notes on Alpha Cluster. From the white
    papers available, it seems notes 4.11 do not support Cluster alias. Has
    this changed for 4.5?
    
    We are also looking for Notes on NT Cluster Reference sites.

Can't answer your 1st question. 

Notes r4.5 does not support the use of a cluster alias. however, it
acccomplishes transparent failover via the combination of IP failover and the
partitioned domino server which is part of the advanced server installtion
options. there are other notes in this and the NT clusters notes file on
implementing cluster failover with Domino. simply, you attach to a server
assigned to an ip address and that ip address migrates to the other server on
failover. the other server instantiates another instance of domino server and
uses the new ip address.
