61.29 | ROOF SECTION REPLACEMENT ?? | PCBUOA::PROVONSILS | | Wed May 07 1997 11:48 | 9 |
| I have a '85 Prowler (23ft) which has a sagging section of roof. From
the inside, it is very spongy. I am not sure how this is constructed,
so I don't know how to attack it. It looks like the roof is split into
sections (moldings separate sections). The one section has a vent and
light involved. I could probably poke my finger without much pressure.
I would like to replace this section, but need to know how it is
constructed. Anyone do this before ?? What would I be getting into ??

Its just simple aucoustical foam with a light plastic covering.
Its exactly like a insulated 2'X4' suspended ceiling tile, only the
foam is a lot stiffer. However it should not be spongy! that means
it absorbed water. A lot of RV dealers can get that stuff for you, or
rip out a piece and bring it to your favorite building supply store
and see what they have.
