| The customer was doing an RMU/RESTORE of a backup made using 6.0A.
He gets the message about the convert being committed. Then it becomes
totally cpu bound. I asked him to try to force a bugcheck using
RMU/BUGCHECK, but he got an RMU NOPRIV error despite having a fully
privileged account. He can create a database, and attach to it, so his
installation seems OK. He is going to try an export/import. It is a
single file database.

| IMPORT with NOACL creates a usable database.
IMPORT with the original ACLs creates a database that causes ATTACH to
hang.
The old ACL is missing the following type of access - references,
security, distribtran, but seems to have everything else.
The database was created using Rdb V3, but has been converted to V6.0.

This surprises me. Can you perform a SHOW PROT and SHOW PRIV for the database
(before the EXPORT)? Please post the output here.

| I have received a fax with the ACLs after each import.
With NOACL it looks normal.
With ACLs there is a entry for [*,*] giving full access followed by
many entries like this
(UNKNOWN=%X00,SIZE=%DO,FLAGS=%X0000,ACCESS=%X00000000,DATA)
The customer says that there are thousands of these.
This the same as on the pre-export database. He can attach to it using
Rdb 6.0-0.
The database was converted from 3.something straight to version 6.

| Looks like the ACL blob has been trashed. Without the database it is a bit
hard to diagnose further.

| I have asked for a copy of the export file. They have the problem on
more than one database.
