4989.0. "Rdbweb on Unix??" by BROKE::BASTINE () Fri Jan 31 1997 14:38
RDBweb Agent question on Unix box
I have a customer trying to run the rdbweb agent from a client (it is
a unix box!!) and he does this:
# /usr/ns-home-cgi-bin/rdbweb
and gets an error stating
509:/usr/ns-home/cgi-bin/libdnet_r.so not found
sbin/loader cannot map libdnet_r.so
This area is all new to me, so I am not sure if he is doing something wrong,
or if what he is doing is OK. If it is OK, what is the problem? According
to the customer the libdnet is a decnet file and they aren't running
DECnet. I had him edit the rdbweb.config file, which on the unix box
appeared to have a different name? (rdbweb-config) and make sure the transport
said "t" for tcp/ip. They did that and it didn't seem to help.
I'm looking for any clues that might help me get this going for them.
Thanks,
Renee

| looks like a bug -- we're linking against decnet whether they want it or not;
we'll need to supply a new rdbweb image for digital unix for customers without
decnet.
I'll let you know when that's available.

Hi,
We've a major customer getting the same problem.
The temporary workaround is installing the decnet libraries.
Any update status of when the bug will be fix?
Thanks,
Michael.
