4949.3partial answers to your questionsORAREP::TPOVC::ERICTUNGFri Jan 24 1997 04:1615
    Liz,

    Thanks for the help. But I can answer 2 of your questions at this
    moment.

    Yes, I can create a file on all of the disks.
    I can see the database appeared in the directory but the creation
    process still persists. It never ends.

    I'm not sure how to run the Analyzer. Can you tell me?

    Regards,
    Eric

4949.4no lock messageORAREP::TPOVC::ERICTUNGFri Jan 24 1997 04:2113
    Ian,

    When the database is under creation, the RMU/SHOW STAT says
    "%RDMS-F-DBCRUPT, database is corrupt".

    After I kill the process, the RMU/SHOW STAT says
    "%RDMS-F-TERMINATE, database monitor forced image exit to protect database"

    It does not say anything about lock.

It takes someone with more VMS knowledge than I have to really do a good
job with SDA.

I would take a serious look at the disks/controller/etc.

    I'll ask CCS guys to have a good take at it.

    The CPU is a VAX 4300.

    Thanks.
