| There are alot of 'wana-be' cops. Usually city cops
have city plates although not always. If there
is any question - drive to the nearest police
station.
El Paso Country has a guy that drives around in a
brown plymoth server court papers....

A cop on Uintah was driving a white, unmarked Geo Storm. I guess
they've decided to get serious with our local insane motorists. I
heard that they show no mercy to stop-sign runners and red-light
runners in particular.

Uintah. Uintah <> I-25!

speaking of goofy police things, my son and his friend were out for a
walk by the friends house in mtn shadows last Sunday evening at 9:00pm.
They're both 17, clean cut, but the standard baggy pants and shirts..
They got pulled over by a cop who detained them for 45 minutes, asked
them all kinds of questions INCLUDING whether they had any identifying
marks or tatoos.....and then told them they shouldn't be out walking
around at that time of the night!!! Since he was home before 10pm,
there is no mistaking what time this happened at....
sounds like harrassment to me....

| Kat,
Some people, particularly official-types don't like teenagers in this
town. this is nothing new. I could plan on being id'ed and hassled
about once/month when I was a teen and living downtown for walking down
the street after dark.

| Better that the police were patrolling the area than two "youths" in a
small white Mazda sedan.

Maybe ... but would they have pulled over two youths in a car otherwise
seemingly minding their own business ? Or to put to another way, even if
the cops had seen the two youths in the white Mazda, would that have changed
anything ... somehow I have my doubts ?
