Speaking of Braille. Why do most bank ATM machines have braille labels
for the buttons and the signs? I mean, isn't the video display (where
the real info is) a little hard for a visually impared person to
    read?

    Just curiuos.

It's a tough world for the visually impaired, but the U.S. is
DEFINITELY one of the more backward in the Western World.

This is one of the reasons why American paper money doesn't come in
different sizes, colors and have braille marks for each denomination.
As a society and nation we're less intelligent and considerate than
European countries who've been doing it for over 20 years!!

All green and all the same size actually promotes denomination mistakes
or leads to getting tricked into accepting 'light' change for 'heavy'
    paper.

As for ATM screen info... it's not all that readable by older folks
without glasses, so visually impared folks would have a distinct
advantage if ATM's had Braille pin readers. Again...back to
consideration vs greed... Braille pin readers can be the dickens to
maintain because they are easily fouled by spilled liquids, dirt or
sticky foodstuffs which other 'considerate' folks tend to be holding even
    while banking.

    Nuff said, I hope.
