Hi, I have been given the task to keeping stats for a men's hockey league in Fitchburg. One of the stats I'd like to keep track of for the goalies is the Save Percentage. But, I'm not sure how I calculate that? I have been keeping track of games played, shots on goal, and goals scored against each goalie. I know it's some combination of these in some sort of calculation. Can anyone out there help me? Also... I'm doing Goals Against Average .. I've been told that is simply the number of goals scored against the goalie divided by the number of games played. Is that true? Thanks, Cathi Provencal IAGO::PROVENCAL

No, it's goals against divided by the number of minutes played. Keep in mind that empty net goals do NOT count against the goalie. I've probably messed this up, but it's early and I've had no coffee. btw, for a shot at the goal to count as a "shot on goal" it has to be between the pipes. Wide shots don't count. | |||||
