103.0. "Happy St Patrick's Day" by SALEM::TIMMONS (Where's Waldo?) Wed Mar 17 1993 07:08

Here's wishing a Happy St. Patty's Day to all in SPROTS.

Seems like a shame that we only get one day to celebrate, much as April
Fool's Day. I think we should combine them and celebrate for 2 weeks.
We could play green jokes on others over that time.

103.1Oh Danny Boy....CAMONE::WAYLunatic fringe, I know you're out thereWed Mar 17 1993 08:2420
Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling,
from glen to glen, and down the mountain side.
The summer's gone, and all the roses falling,
It's you, it's you must go and I must bide.

But come ye back, when summer's in the meadow.
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow.
It's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow,
Oh Danny boy, my Danny boy, I love you so.

And if ye come, and all the flowers are dying,
and I am dead, as dead i well may be.
Ye'll come and find the place that I am lying,
and kneel and say an 'Ave' there for me.

And I will hear, tho' soft you tread above me,
and all my grave shall warmer, sweeter be.
For you will bend and tell me that you love me,
and I will sleep in peace until you come to me.......

We probably shouldn't expect to see Mike Leary today. He's probably
off tieing one on with his buddy Amhad Rashad.

Actually, Mike is on vacation. But I would expect he's out there,
bleary-eyed already, his breath reaking of cheap Irish whiskey.....

And of course, JUST for Mike, I'm including this:

Q: How does a story about an Irish social affair begin?
	A: "Among the injured were..."

Happy St. Patty's to all of those who celebrate. I never got into it.
I guess it's like seeing Mike wearing an X hat during February...
    haha..

Nah, Ahmad Rashad was definitely Irish before converting to Islam.
    Too funny, Mac...

I was trying to get my Irish son Kevin Patrick to dress up as a
leprechaun this morning, but he would have absolutely none of it...

later on this afternoon. If I run into OJ I'll send Mike Leary's
    regards...

Like I said to Mac this morning, Clan Donald of Clanranald's turf was the
Hebrides and the mainland right near there.

That's a hop, skip and jump from Ireland, so I'm sure my ancestors probably
went their on vacation.....8^)

I was going to be there, but couldn't make it.

They are probably drinking green beers or Irish coffee....

Among the injured were.....8^)

    Haha,
You boys is all so humorous....hic!
Actually heard back from ma bud OJ. Told me he didn't mean it and
to make it up to me, next time he was in Boston he'd make sure he
paid for my cab fare home. What a sensitive guy..

Jest remember Mac and 'Saw...... The Highlanders emigrated from
Ireland to Scotland in the 11th or 12th century so if we follow the
Ulster rationale..... if y'all are Highlanders, yer actually Irish!!
Haw Haw! And since me grandmum was born in Glasgow, thus a Lowlander,
I'm actually legit Scot! Unlike y'all faux Highland Scotsmen! 8^).

I was supposed to meet Riggen and Cacti on St.Pat's Day but we never
got ahold of each other.... Either that or I was too blotto to
remember to meet them. Actually Riggen stopped by me hotel and left
a message for me at WP on his way to Steamboat with Wardle in tow.
Too bad too, as I had the green beers all ready at the Sunspot bar
    on the slopes at WP.

    MikeL

BTW, ah am also uninjured. Sore knees from a_bumpin' tho.

in Winter Park. Spent hte evening at a micro Brewery called Heavenly Daze
enjoying the Air band competition and drinking something called wheat ale
"green". Sorry we missed ya Mike.

Also beat up and seeing a tree surgeon for the knee.

    Hail Jeff,
I was top_a_the mountain(kinda) sippin' on a green brew in SunSpot
lounge! Yea, it was a snowin' like a heavy, wet Eastern storm.
Dang snow was hard-packed and slick late in the day. You shoulda
hoid them Westerners(wail mostly dadgum Texans!) complainin' about
the so-called ice! HAHAHA. Sorry we missed ya, but thanks for stopping
by! Where the hail was Cacti??
