Hi, I have a user who states that the EDCS client processes "disappear" with no apparent reason. There are 3 nodes in the cluster - one running the server and client process, the other 2 are running just the client process. The processes that "disappear" are on the "client-only" nodes. I looked in the log files in SYS$ERRORLOG but see no error msgs. The image id of the EDCS$CTRL.EXE file is "EDCSII_V2.2-24". The systems are running VMS 6.1. The "disappearance" of the processes doesn't happen at any set time. Any suggestions? Lew - Digital Semiconductor - Hudson MA.

Lew, You dont give much to go on. How frequently does this problem occur? It is unusual that edcs does not log an error in sys$errorlog. I would suggest that the customer should shutdown edcs and restart it, this will clear the global sections which might be causing some problems. If this problem persists, post the logfiles and ini files for all nodes here and I will have a look at them. Regards, John. |
