2432.0. "MS Office Word print-PS-to-file problem with CDA and Windows95. NT is ok" by FIEVEL::FILGATE (Bruce Filgate SHR3-2/W4 237-6452) Fri Feb 14 1997 20:10

If I run MS Office 95 with Word 7.0 pure text file (no pictures) through
a PS printer to a file to get a PostScript file, the resultant file is
compatable with CDA as a function of whether the Office OS was NT or
Windows95. From NT it works, from Windows95 CDA complains about
 insufficient printer memory.

 What I have done is

 1) created a PS printer to file, say DEC 1152 (or LN03R, or LPS20, or LPS32)

 2) Opened a .txt file with Word and printed it to a PostScript file via
    the printer is #1

 3) Moved the file to VMS via FTP (or Pathworks, or mail)

 4) Opened it with CDA (or mail)

All of the above work from NT, all of the above fail from Windows95 with
 insufficient printer memory.

Someone with a lot more experience than I have any thoughts on how CDA
 might be discerning a difference?

 thanks,
 Bruce

There might be a different driver for the two operating systems (or whatever you
call these toys:-)). If you provide a pointer to one of each file I may have a
look at them.
