497.0. "SYBASE addressing memory greater than 1 gig " by NETRIX::"[email protected]" (Dorothy Zanni) Wed Jan 29 1997 19:06
The following problem occurred when running Sybase 11.0.2.1 EBF 6719 Server
on an ALPHA 8400 System with 8 CPU's and 8GIG of memory.
When using async I/O the server started, ran fine but could only address up to
1 gig of memory.
In order to address memory beyond 1 gig it was necessary to add the command:
LIMIT ADDRESSSPACE UNLIMITED to the run file usedwhen starting the server.
The server then booted and addressed ALL of memory.
