Just checked with the local fireams dealer here near the
Alpharetta site and he expects delivery in 3 weeks for the
.32 cal Beretta. He could not quote a price as he did not have
any idea what he ( the dealer ) would be charged yet. Will be
checking back with thme in 3 - 4 weeks for availability.

| Red,
I've got one the Bobcats (.22lr) and have actually seen and touched one of
the Tomcat .32's and compared them side by side. The only visual difference I
could detect was that the triggerguard on the .32 is significantly heavier
(particularly up under the barrel.) All the magazine articles I've read on it
(there's one in the current issue (April 97) of G&A), have been very positive
(aren't they all). The trigger pull on the one I fondled in Denver was very
similar to my .22lr Model 21. As an alternative to a .22lr, .25acp or a sharp
stick, the .32acp comes in significantly hotter. I carry Mag-Safes in a
Seecamp and feel adequately armed for contact distance encounters. I would feel
the same if it was a Beretta Tomcat instead.
The Tomcat I saw was marked at about $300, which is right at the suggested
retail price. I understand the demand for these if real high and don't expect
to see discount prices much for awhile.
If you're looking for a pocket backup gun, you could do a lot worse...
