| Hi,
I've just picked up a Third Generation scope mount for my M1A and
I immediately noticed what I think is a problem.
A standard Weaver recoil lug is a between 1/2 to 2/3 the
width of the recoil lug grooves on the Springfield "Weaver Rail?".
I've mounted a few Weavers before and have never seen this much
variance in the widths before. I think it's excessive.
What kind of rings should I be putting on this scope mount? I've
looked at GGG and MWG rings, both milled from solid steel with hex head
screws and nuts, but I can't tell from the catalogs if these are going
to be more of the same fit.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated as I seem to be
going blind and will not be able to see what this rifle is capable of
until I get a scope on it.
Thank you,
