Also a reply to 2029. Same error as 2029.
Customer is migrating from a 3100 to 7000. Both systems currently
running DBMS 5.1-11 & VMS 6.1.
The 3100 is at a remote location. Customer did a DBO/BACKUP to
disk at the remote location and FTP'd the backup to his site and
attempted a DBO/RESTORE to the 7000. Restore failed with the
errors...KOD$GET_VM +3FB.
Rerunning the restore produced the same results. This is a MANMAN
application. Restore failed about two-thirds through the restore.
The logicals appear to be ok. Checked the file attributes of the
FTP'd file and the original....they match. He will try to restore
just the area that it failed on to see what happens. Users at the
remote location have no problems running against the db. There
has never been a restore of this db, even to determine if it could
be done.
Running out of ideas...upgrade?

Delayed entry...problem was with initial ftp. Customer reran and
it worked...
