	    Digital X.500 Directory Service T3.1 (field test)
	    -------------------------------------------------

    This note announces the availability of the internal network kits for
    Digital X.500 Directory Service T3.1. Kits are available for OpenVMS VAX,
    OpenVMS Alpha and Digital UNIX.

    This kit adds support for Digital UNIX V4.0. This kit will not run on
    UNIX V3. This kit requires UNIX V4.0a plus UNIX test patch Q48633.
    If you install X.500 T3.1 on Digital UNIX can you please mail
    FORTY2::X500_SUPPORT so that we get feed back from this field test.   

    You are strongly advised to read the cover letter, installation guide
    and release notes installing this software.

    The installation guides have not been updated for the field test, and
    still refers to V3.0. The information they contain is still relevant
    except for the kit names specified.

Does the same patch apply for UNIX V4.0B? I guess I can try it for myself.

I applied the patch to a V4.0B system and the DSA seems to run ok. 

I've kept the old libraries just in case. :-)

I'll let folks know if I run into any problems.
