I've seen the same problem at a customer.

The same error is also returned after entering the user password in order to
modify attributes.

Any ideas?

954.2Is it to do with LDAP compliance of the "MSIE" client?OPNOFF::meopc101.pc.meo.dec.com::meoc02::limWed Mar 05 1997 07:4217
Hi,

My customer is also experiencing exactly the same problem as described in .0.
I'm supposed to look for an answer to the problem or identify the cause of the
problem.

My first question is, for Netscape, Microsoft Internet Explorer or any Web browser
to be able to look up or modify an X500 entry, does it mean that they have to be
LDAP client compliant i.e. the browser itself has the built-in code for LDAP?
If so, in this particular instance, the issue here is how "LDAP compliant" is the
browser? Please let me know if I'm on the right track.

Thanks for any ideas.

If you are using infobroker as a Web interface then the client is not
using LDAP at all, it is using HTML.

The error message suggests that MSIE does not like the html that it is
    receiving.

If you try to use the LDAP clients built into MS Internet Mail and
Netscape Communicator then you will probably come across other problems
    which are LDAP related.

There is a problem with the Infobroker WEBserver which
causes problems for Microsoft Internet Explorer.

954.5Any solution for problem with Infobroker WEB server and MSIEOPNOFF::meopc101.pc.meo.dec.com::meoc02::limFri Mar 07 1997 00:5634
Hi and thank you very much for the replies.

I have just confirmed with the customer and yes they're using the Infobroker WEB
server.

Also, I have managed to get Microsoft Internet Explorer up and running and
actually the error message is different from .0 when I did the advanced search on
X500.

The error message is as follows:
[ ERROR

The requested URL could not be retried
While trying to retrieve the URL
  The following error was encountered
   . No object Data

  This means that
The remote server closed the connection before sending any data ]

As mentioned in .0. Normal lookup works fine on Netscape and MSIE. Advanced
query (modifying) works fine on Netscape but MSIE gives the above error.

I noticed that the URL was somehow truncated when the above error was encountered.

ref .4:
>>There is a problem with the Infobroker WEBserver which
>>causes problems for Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Is it the same problem here and is the problem being worked on?

Thanks again.
