| Could we get some idea of the time frame here?? At the Messaging
Symposium in Virginia two weeks ago, Nad indicated this ECO would
be available by the end of January. The previous replies seem to
be saying the ECO has probably been delayed. What's the scoop??

The X.500 directory service that run on UNIX V4.0
will not be an ECO release, this because we have to
build the software on V4.0 and hence it wont run on
UNIX V3.2C. To distinguish the kit that run on
UNIX V4.0 it will be a new version release.
We are currently testing this kit and we should
announce the field test kit early February.

| There is not much point in having the ECO kit if you dont have the
fixes to UNIX that are also required. (In fact the fixes to UNIX
should be the ONLY thing that is required, but we dont think that
they are able to fix all the problems we know about !)
We have heard that the the fix should be in the February UNIX
patches.

| Just out of curiosity...is Nad in the loop for this release? While he
was quite evasive regarding the future of X.500 Directory Services he
did state that the new release that would work with UNIX 4.0 would be
out at the end of January...no mention of field test or anything along
those lines. He presented the message in a way that we felt we could
pass along the message to the wondering customers. Nad needs to be made
aware that this product is in no way on its way out the door.
Just wondering.
