Other than considering the cumbersome MB400/XMR/MR/MRS solution to send/receive messages between DISOSS and MB 400, I need some infos on X.GATE. 1) Does this product interwork with DISOSS? 2) Does it run directly DU or do we need some extra hardware? 3) If it run directly on DU, do we need LU 6.2 to talk to the mainframe (and than a SNA gateway in between)? 4) Where does address mapping take place? Thanks, giovanni

re: (2) and (4) It runs on a PC under OS/2, talks to MB400 on one side (including foreign address translation, as I recall) and to an IBM system on the other side. Dave

Hi, Xgate connects to Dissos as well as OfficeVision. Protocol used to talk to MB400 is TCP/IP and to talk to the IBM side is LU6.2 with CommunicationsManager on OS/2. So probably two network interfaces (ethernet for IP and TR for LU6.2) there is a product specifiction on the web: http://www.dga.co.uk/xgate/product/xgfs.html Regards GJ
