| Looks like the failing message is being transferred from the SMTP Gateway
to X.400 with invalid ArrivalTime entries on the Trace.

These times are on trace records corrsponding to ns.gte.com and relay.gte.com.
It could be that these sites are providing malformed SMTP dates that the SMTPO
Gateway is converting toi invalid X.400-form dates (G.I.G.O).
Try sending SMTP mail from thse locations to the gateway node and comapring the
date information contained in that message to a message sent over SMTP from
the gateway node to the gateway node.

| ns.gte.com and relay.gte.com are names of MTAs within the domain
c=us;a=telemail;p=gtedchq1 through which the message has been relayed.
Do you have any idea what MTAs these are i.e. are they MAILbus 400 MTAs ?

I'm sorry I have not gotten back to you sooner, been out of the
office...
I'm not sure what the MTA's are. I'm trying to confirm with the
customer. They have a MAILbus 400 MTA, Exchange Server x.400
Connector, and a Sprint X.400 MTA in their environment.
I will report back when I hear from the customer.

The customer has asked me if I have any more information to report...
They also have another question:

| Times on the trace elements are mapped from the dates that appear in SMTP's
Received: and X400-Received headers:. In the basenote case, look for the
Received Headers that contain 'relay.gte.com' and 'ns.gte.com'.
