Hi MAILbus 400 MTA V1.4-3 The customer is having problems with messages coming from Exchange to MTA which are causing the MTA to crash and produce a core dump. While we have advised the customer that he needs to upgrade to MTA V2.0 to be able to further pursue this we are looking for a way of identifying whether there is some pattern to the types of messages which are failing. The customer is removing the offending message from the MTA and is then able to continue operation. Has anyone any feel for whether analysis of the core dump would be of any benefit - if so, is there anything specific which we should look for. Thanks Jill

Hi Jill, I'd be surprised if anyone was interested in core dumps from an old version. But if the customer has managed to detect which messages are causing the problem, then just running the decoder on them should be enough to give them a clue? What do they want to achieve? As you say, V2 is really needed for Exchange support though. grahame |
