Is it possible to have more than one MTS entry in X.500 for example: / /mts=mts_1 (gdi=gdi_1) ---- MTA_1 /c=CO/o=ORG/ \ \ /mts=mts_2 (gdi=gdi_2) ---- MTA_2 so that sending messages for MTA_1 it takes gdi_1 and sending from MTA_2 it takes gdi_2 ? Thanks, giovanni

3120.1 | Maybe, but . . . | ZUR01::ASHG | Grahame Ash @RLE | Tue Jan 28 1997 11:56 | 13 |
Are you trying to ensure that messages handled by the two MTAs have different GDIs in the MPDU Identifier and Trace records? I suspect that there is nothing to stop you setting up 2 routing domains in the same Directory. I also suspect that no-one else has tried this, and there will be horrible management problems involved. But without knowing how your users are defined, or other configuration details it's hard to say if it's a good thing to do. grahame

Hi, As Grahame said in .1 it'll be NOT really an easy task to have 2 MTS in 1 DIT. We thought about such a scenario at CoV to separate the health and the govermental deparments. Then we decided to have 2 different MTS (=Different GDIs) with many MTA-Sets having different X.500 accesspoints and bingo, very convinient to manage and maintain. Cheers Charly
