VMS Delta time patch that needs to be installed on all VMS system by early May 1997. How will this patch affect Message Router versions 3.1B, 3.2 and 3.3a, running on VMS systems VMS 5.4-2 through VMS 6.1? Customer has a total of 75 VMS systems running ALL-IN-1 and Message Router, along with the MR-VMSMail Gateway, Message Router X.400 Gataeway and Message Router Profs Gataeway. If patch is not applied by May, will it affect the use of Message Router? Thanks for your help.

Well, if some critical part of the OS falls over due to the 10K problem (for example DECnet, though I'm *NOT* saying it will), then you _could_ say not installing the fix would affect the use of Message Router, right? Outside of that, MR, MRG, and MRX should not be affected either way. (Of course this is not an official engineering position statement) Dave

> (for example DECnet, though I'm *NOT* saying it will) Last I heard, DECnet (both classic and plus) have been checked and have a clean bill of health. fwiw, --Scott

I wasn't picking on DECNET Scott, just trying to illustrate a point. Dave

I knew you weren't, it's just that the next question would have been "what about DECnet?" btw; I was reminded that PhaseV MOP uses DECthreads, so there may be some impact of you use MOP and don't apply the delta time ECO. --Scott |
