Hi,
I have a customer complaining that when he tries to update an entry in
dds, it delays a lot. His machine is a world search node. I realized that the
process dds$55_I1 had the caps lock I so it seems that is active. The
dds$inque.dat has 27000 blocks. And the process is making a lot of ios.
Our doubt is that if it's realy doing updates or it's lost. They say that
there were changes in many entries 2 weeks ago on the master node but that the
updates should have ended.
I checked dds counters and realized that the event 5.7 (processing
Replace) is increasing. In the manual , it says that this event happens when
someone changes an entry and this change is replicated. My doubt is if this
replace is processed by the input server . I mean , is this counter related to
the input server ? If this event is not related to the input server , could
someone tell me which ones are ?
Thanks .. Marcia

Did you configure DDS for deferred updates?

All transactions that modify the database are handled by the
Input Queue server, including replication transactions. See
the "Introduction to Message Router" for transaction flows.
Perhaps some _other_ node(s) in their network is doing updates...

Hi Dave(s),
The customer didn't configure deffered updates. I'll them him to consider
this.
I wasn't sure if that counter was related to the input queue server, I
read about it but I didn't understand very well. Nice it's related and we know
right now that the server is not lost, it's really working.
Thanks .. Marcia
