My customer sends a X400 mail from ALL-IN-1. He receive the following error report. My customer said that it is too complicated when his end users to receive this reply because my customer is a banking environment, his end users do not have computer knowledges. He would like to modiy the content such as "message is non-delivered, please contact the system manager". Would anyone know that my Customer can do the the job or not ? If it is "yes". How can it change ? Any advice should be appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: HGCS24::MRGATE 31-DEC-1996 14:31:40.37 To: MASCOTTANG CC: Subj: Message Router delivery notification message RE Message ID: G00000E4830DEC199614222929 UA content ID: TEST Attempted delivery to: Country : hk Administrative Domain : attmail Surname : 3dechkmcstang Given name : mascot Route : @HGCS24 <-- Route : @ATTMAIL Route : @1=hk Route : @2=attmail Userid : mascot 3dechkmcstang Arrival date : 30-DEC-1996 14:22 This delivery failed. 3171.1 | Don't remove the diagnostic info from the report | ZUR01::ASHG | Grahame Ash @RLE | Thu Feb 20 1997 08:07 | 16 |
This request originated in Note 2523 in IOSG::ALL-IN-1, where I discovered that the system receiving the NDR is ALL-IN-1 V3.0A, which uses the V1 MR interface. Mascot, I'll repeat something I said in that discussion. If you change the non-delivery report to say "Please see your system manager", what is the system manager supposed to do? If the recipient shows the manager the report in .0, at least he knows what the problem is. Would it not be a better solution if the users were told to FORWARD their non-delivery reports to the Manager? I think changing the reports as your customer suggests will cause even more confusion. grahame

Just a bit of an aside, but if they are "sending an X400 mail from ALL-IN-1", it seems a bit odd they would get the delivery report from MRGATE. In either case (MRGATE or ALL-IN-1 pre-V3.1) MR is the entity that is generating the text, and it is hard-coded... Dave

I inform to customer it is hard-coded. Thank you. |
