3254.0. "DECRQCRA Definition/Algorithm?" by DOTWRK::LITT (Tim Litt) Mon May 12 1997 14:24
I'm implementing DECRQCRA (checksum of rectangular area) in a
terminal emulator. All the user documentation says is that it returns
a checksum; I suppose so one can compare "now" and "later".
If the SRM had been updated, would a prefered checksum have been
specified? What would it be? Or is one required? Should the checksum
be just on character data, or on attributes too? Just character
attributes, or including line attributes?
To emulate a 420 or 5xx or - should I be concerned about getting the
same value, or are applications that save checksums longer than a
session considered broken?
I just love reverse-engineering our own technology.
Thanks!

I just checked vtstar, unfortunately it never implemented that function.
