| I see that the "Blue Princess" holly that I just purchased is rated for
zones 5-8. Anyone have any experience trying to grow them north of
Concord, NH?

| Don't know how it will do, but for protection you could try
a burlap windscreen. I did that this past winter in Zone 5
for a Japanese Holly which I believe is rated Zone 6. It did a
lot better than the previous years without it. Wiltpruf too.
Most hollies are zone 6. Is Blue Princess a "Meserve"? Meserve
is the only holly I know of rated a zone 5.
Also, your particular microclimate will impact the success. If
the holly is in a protected area or exposed area will make a big
difference.
