7211.1OPCOM messages?FUNYET::ANDERSONOpenVMS pays the billsTue May 27 1997 11:333
Are there OPCOM messages seen when a SET REPLY /ENABLE is performed?

> NO output when user did :

and what did the user try to send in this state?
'showpage ' (note the space after the word) should feed a blank page

^T should return a status message

no response at all would indicate a communication error (LATSYM
success notwithstanding)

7211.3showpage does give blanks page but ^T no responseGIDDAY::SHCHIUTue May 27 1997 22:2622

    thanks for the reply.

    $ set host/dte ltaxxx:

    showpage

    there is blanks page on the printer.

    ^T does not return anything on the session.

    I am getting user to send in the serial card , cable for
    troubleshooting.

    thanks.

7211.4Check the port and terminal characteristics.HANNAH::KAMATHWed May 28 1997 14:0716

    Stanley,

    	Make sure you have enabled PostScript language for serial
    	port of the printer. If it is set for language sensing
    	you need to define NO_SYNC logical for the particular queue.

    	On confirming the language on the printer port, if it still
    	fails I recommend you to first check the terminal
    	characteristics on the OpenVMS system. The OpenVMS driver
        may not pass the control characters to the printer. (DCPS
        symbiont when starting the queue sets the terminal
        characteristics to pass control characters).

    -Harish Kamath.
