According to uncommitted rumours the DCPS 1.4 should be released 16/5/97 (in europe). Several customers have been asking for it (for a long time now). Considering the date now they are asking if there is any quicker way to get it than waiting for the next CD distribution. For instance AES. Questions: 1: Name of the kit ? 2: Where can we obtain a kit ? best rgds GB

The DCPS V1.4 CD will be available before the quarterly layered product CD. The DCPS CD has both Alpha and VAX kits and all documentation. Paul

Does this mean there will be a "special" CD with just DCPS 1.4 on it (or at least DCPS 1.4) ? How to get hold of it ?. best rgds GB

For the last number of releases, there has been a separate DCPS CD containing kits and documentation. For V1.3 the part number is QA-09NAB-H8. I don't know if the number will stay the same for V1.4. Paul

I don't know > if the number will stay the same for V1.4. It will be the same, to the degree to which you've specified it. That's the number for a complete kit, which includes hardcopy docs as well as a CDROM. The CDROM will have both VAX and Alpha kits on it, and also online versions of the docs in various formats. I don't know how long it takes to order and get one of these kits, but I sure would like to believe it's better than waiting for a quarterly release of the NAS, Enterprise Integration Package, or OpenVMS Software Product Library CDROM. --Dan S. p.s. The *FULL* part number for the DCPS V1.4 CDROM kit will be QA-09NAB-H8.1.4. |
