Slightly off-topic on comp.os.vms, should be in comp.lang.postscript but ...

If you want a really system-independent solution, Quikscript does the
ASCII to PS conversion IN THE PRINTER. It is a ps job which does an entire
word processor (if you want, I use it only to print my ascii files with a
custom header, or my mails with header and body in different fonts, with a
little wrapper). You'll enjoy it.

And it's also coming from a place close to you ! :-)
