7192.0. "Rapidprint 200 with serial connection to LG01 causes queue stalls" by NNTPD::"[email protected]" (fernando roldan) Wed May 07 1997 14:05

Hi,
First of all, I dont really now if this conference is the best for it.

Ive a Rapidprint 200 connected to a LG01 by the serial port.Every
morning when the LG01 is powered on, the queue associated to it goes
to stall. So, its necessary power off and on both, the printer and the
rapidprint 200 in order to put the printer available.

I have detected that when the user send the first job to the printer, the
rapidprint loose two values:
Connected node: (Normally here is the hostname)
Protocol:none (Normally here is the type of the protocol, LAT)

Until two rapidprints has been changed without changes.
The serial cable, the adapter and the I/O serial interface of the LG01
has been changed also.

The configuration is:

Rapidprint 200 with firmware version 1.1.8
LG01 with serial port
H8575-A with BN24H-03 cable
Alphaserver 2100 with O.S: OpenVMS 6.2
Protocols used:MOP and LAT

Thanks in advance

Considering the RapidPrint 200 is connected to an LG01 printer, this conference
is probably not the place, but since there's no RapidPrint conference, maybe it
*is* the place.

The way to get action on this problem is to submit an IPMT case.

You may want to consider these questions.

Does this behavior happen every time the printer is powered off?
Does this behavior happen only when the printer is powered off?
How are you noticing the RapidPrint loses the Node and Protocol values?
Does the problem always go away when both the printer and RapidPrint are
   powered on together?

You might try cross-posting this in the TERMINAL_SERVERS notes file.
I've asked questions on the RapidPrint there in the past.
