7183.0. "Alternative needed for forms and generic queues on PATHWORKS" by VMSNET::J_FILLERS () Wed Apr 30 1997 09:47
I have a cusotmer who uses the same printer to print labels, envelopes,
and documents. They use differernt forms on the print command to cause
a stock mismatch so an operator can setup the printer for what is being
printed.
now my customer wishes to use Pathworks for OpenVMS(Dos). There is no
way in Pathworks to specify forms while printing from a PC. The
customer has just installed DCPS 1.3. Now is there a way to setup
generic print queues to accomplish the above? There does not seem to be
a way to put a form on a generic queue.
I believe his solution is to setup multiple execution queues
with different forms. Then have the queues stopped until someone prints
to the specific queue. The user would then call an operator.
Is there an alternative method where a generic queue could be used to
generate something like a stock mismatch error?
Thanks for any suggestions
